If you get the dreaded red "X" on your RT unit, it usually is repairable.  APC will tell you its an internal fault and that there are no serviceable parts inside.  They might recommend their authorized repair center, but most people's dealings with them are dissapointing and expensive.

Suprisingly there are only about 12 parts inside the Smart UPS RT line.  When a Red X Internal fault occurs, its actually telling you what is wrong.  Besides the Red X the Battery Level LEDs light up signalling a code.

If the 2nd and 3rd LED are lit, we know what this code means and know what we must do to change it.

Once we identify the problem we replace the parts, reset the unit and test the system with 5 unique tests to make sure you can count on the unit.  All repairs include a 1 year warranty
